Solar Cooking Potluck Hosted by Tucson Citizens for Solar

The Tucson Citizens For Solar has been hosting an annual solar cooking pot luck since 1983.

Where: The next Solar Cooking Pot Luck will take place at Catalina State Park
11570 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, Arizona.

When: September 12, 2026 10:00am to 5:00pm

Cost: No charge for attending the event, the park’s day use fees apply.

How: After entering the park proceed directly to the group campground area, and find the Ringtail Group space. At 10am solar cooks from around Tucson and visiting from around the country will have a dozen or more solar cookers at work, cooking with pure sunlight (not PV!).

This year’s Pot Luck will also be livestreamed by the Solar Cooking Museum, an international volunteer organization that has collected over 100 classic and contemporary solar thermal cookers. The Museum hosts a series on solar cooking where the most experience solar cooks discuss the powerful cooker designs anyone can purchase or make on one’s own.
