Russophobia is the fuel for our nuclear war weapons stockpiles. The patriarchal HARD systems of
power and war fire missiles but the SOFT power demonization makes us want to kill. Our workshop
will show a brief history of how Russophobia started in Europe and the us in the 19th century and
its growth since in our daily lives at home, in media, and in emotions we hold dear.

Then we’ll show successful arts, entertainment, and cultural challenges to Russophobia’s demonized
images.

After the slide show, we’ll interview each other in small groups to see how we can work on the
toxic problem, speaking to our past encounters, creating new, friendly networks.
