Join us in the early evening of Friday, August 28 for an essential and timely discussion, Forbidden Geographies: Solidarity and the Criminalization of Humanitarian Aid and Rescue in the Desert, the Forest, and the Sea

Doors Open at 5:30 p.m.
Event from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Activists, authors, and academics from border regions around the world will discuss how the forest, the sea, and the desert serve as sites of violence, resistance, and solidarity. Speakers from the Polish Belarusian border, the Central Mediterranean, and the U.S.- Mexico border will address common themes of search and rescue, the weaponization of physical geography, and the criminalization of humanitarian aid. A panel discussion will follow.
