Through movement-based art forms and somatic practices\, ZUZI! Dance provides opportunities and resources for individuals to discover and confidently navigate their creative paths. We offer classes\, workshops\, and performances for our community to fully experience live art.  \n“Frida Kahlo: Blood and Gold” was Conceived and Choreographed by Cofounder and Artistic Director Nanette Robinson originally premiered at ZUZI! Dance Theater in 2012. This production involves a cast of 9 dancers and 3 musicians\, working together in collaboration to create a meaningful event for all who witness and participate in this journey of Frida Kahlo’s life. The cast features Meredith Alvarado\, Violet Feinberg\, Heide Foley\, Itzel Macias\, Sherry Mullholland\, Celina Pena\, Norma Poplin Redhouse\, Aja Squires\, and Cynthia Wasco\, with musicians Allison Akmajian\, Andrea Gudrune\, and Sally Withers.  \nThis event is part of a long-standing tradition for ZUZI! to create a space and opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to work\, move\, learn and grow together. This multi-generational approach to dance is rooted in ZUZI!’s belief that individual perspectives\, shared and shaped with others\, create a healthy community.\nTwo performances will take place on Sunday\, April 26th at 10:30am & 1pm at The Tucson Botanical Gardens at 2150 North Alvernon Way Tucson\, AZ 85712.
